Got the chicken katsu, which came with an ample amount of food. The chicken, while it is fried, isn't greasy. The rice was fluffy and soft, and the kimchi was great. For $9 it's a steal, seriously.

Cheap eats! You can get two main entrees for less than 25$. The food is on point and it is authentic Korean food.

Seoul Soondae is located within the Lotte Plaza right off of Route 29 as part of their food court. I think this is the first joint I've seen that specializes solely in Korean pig blood sausage (soondae). And because of that, I think their standard soondae dishes are better than most, and I was also able experience other sorts of soondae concoctions that I've never seen before. Definitely recommend the sauteed soondae in spicy sauce with noodles and veggies.

Best soondae in Maryland! Jokbahl is on point too. Definitely recommend if you're craving Korean street food!

This restaurant is in the food court of Lotte Supermarket. Although this particular branch isn't a "real" sit-down restaurant (again think food court), it is part of a successful group of restaurants in other parts of Virginia and Maryland. The menu here is a little more pared down compared to the menus of the other restaurants since it's in a food court. As their name suggests, they specialize in "soondae." It's pretty much a blood sausage. Although it may sound pretty gross, it's not too bad... it's also a very popular street food over in Korea. Compared to Italian and German sausages, it's a little softer, a little more "earthy" flavored, and has a different texture (due to the noodles inside). You can order the soondae on a platter with assorted meats. Again, not for the squeamish as it contains things like tripe, pork stomach, liver, etc... At least I think that's what they are.... I just eat it and prefer not to ask questions. :P You can dip any of those items on the plate into a spicy salt mix for more flavor. Soondae also comes as part of a soup (soondae gook). The soup is hearty, somewhat earthy, and a little spicy as well. You'll find the assorted meals from the platter also in the soup. Throw in some rice and you've got a pretty filling meal. If you want something else, the soh muri gook bap is a good choice too. It's a milky-white colored soup (no milk in it though) with green onions, noodles, and slivers of beef. You add in the rice to this dish as well. It comes out pretty much unseasoned so throw in some salt to bring out the flavor of the soup. You can eat the rice/soup by itself or, if you want more flavor or spice, eat it with the kimchi and ggakdugi (spicy pickled radish). Me? I prefer the ggakdugi. The potato soup (gamja tang), like Yaka's review says, is also a very solid, hearty meal too. So if you want some Korean food but want something different from the popular Korean restaurants in the area, you may want to head on over to the food court in Lotte, order a dish here, find a seat, and enjoy!

For those cold winter nights, when you've driving back home from work, when you don't want to go back to a cold apartment and make something for dinner... stop by here and get the pork rib and potato stew!! It definitely hits the spot! Definitely a winter food. It's a huge bowl of warm yummy stew, comes with a bowl of rice, two banchan (kimchi and the spicy pickled turnip), and a cup for hot barley tea or water. It's less than 8 dollars and fills you up to the brim!
